- Heavy rainfall has been affecting southern Italy, particularly the Calabria region, since 17 March, causing flooding and triggering landslides that have resulted in evacuations and damage.
- According to media, as of 18 March, at least 80 people have been preventively evacuated in the Crosia municipality of south-eastern Cosenza province due to a landslide. The overflow of the streams Trionto e Fiumarella damaged houses and roads. Road closures have also been reported in the municipalities of Corigliano, Mirto, Rossano, Calopezzati, Pietrapaola, and Mandatoriccio (Cosenza province), which have been the most impacted.
- For the next 24 hours, more heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast over the Calabria and Puglia regions.
