An emergency response mission visited Nyinenyang to support asylum-seekers arriving from South Sudan and to help shape preparedness measures as the situation across the border remains fragile. The team assessed services in Luakdong and Tormorok and held discussions with newly displaced families who shared concerns about prolonged lack of food, healthcare, and protection. Throughout the week, UNHCR and partners completed the relocation on 31st March 2026, provided protection briefings, strengthened screening for vulnerable families, and expanded child-focused activities and women’s wellness support. Community awareness initiatives further improved understanding of available services, safeguarding measures, and key protection responsibilities.
