- Heavy rainfall has been affecting north-eastern Brazil (in particular, the Pernambuco and Paraiba states) since 30 April, causing floods and triggering landslides that have resulted in casualties and damage.
- Media report, as of 4 May, six fatalities, of whom four are across the Recife and Olinda cities (Pernambuco state) and two more across the Paraiba state, where the most affected are Conde, Joao Pessoa and Campina Grande cities. In addition, media also reports approximately 3 300 displaced people across both the aforementioned affected states.
- Over the next 96 hours, more heavy rainfall with locally very heavy rainfall is still forecast over north-eastern Brazil.
